Seasonal Short Order Cook Job Description
The Country Club of Scranton is currently seeking multiple highly motivated culinarians with a passion for cooking who can work in a team oriented, fast paced, guest centric environment.
The short order cook will work in various kitchens on property through the busy summer season. This position is seasonal with potential opportunities for year-round employment.
Basic Qualifications:
Education/Training: Recognized degree in culinary arts and/or 1 year experience cooking experience.
Valid PA driver’s license.

General responsibilities:
Prepping ingredients (washing, chopping, etc.) and cooking them according to recipes and standards.
Setting up and stocking their station with necessary supplies, ensuring proper hygiene and organization.
Grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods as needed for the menu.
Ensuring dishes are properly plated, garnished, and presented according to chef specifications.
Maintaining a clean and sanitary work area, following food safety and sanitation regulations.
Working efficiently with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate service.
Assisting with inventory, restocking, or other duties as assigned by the chef.
Average knife skills.
Ability to follow and troubleshoot recipes and menu items with little to no difficulty.
Ability to handle prep work and work with little or no difficulty.
Ability to work with supportive attitude, skill, speed, and cleanliness.
Ability to exhibit proper food handling procedures in accordance with state, local, and club regulations.
Maintain high sanitation standards.
Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years or older
Demonstrate cooking skills and ability to follow established menus and recipes
