Key Responsibilities
Floral Production & Preparation
- Assist with processing fresh flowers, including unpacking, conditioning, hydrating, and storing stems according to floral best practices.
- Support the creation of basic arrangements (e.g., bud vases, simple guest room florals) under direction of the Floral Operations Manager or Lead Florist.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, tools, and coolers at all times.
- Rotate floral inventory to ensure maximum freshness and quality.
- Assist with washing buckets, refilling and refreshing water, and general shop upkeep.
- Warmly greet guests and visitors to the flower shop, offering assistance and product knowledge in a polished, intuitive manner.
- Support sales of retail florals, small arrangements, gifts, and branded merchandise.
- Handle guest special requests—including same-day arrangements—by coordinating with the Floral Operations Manager.
- Prepare floral deliveries for guest rooms, suites, VIP arrivals, events, and internal departments.
- Maintain a Forbes-standard service presence: elegant posture, calm demeanor, and anticipatory communication.
- Assist with placement of floral pieces throughout the hotel’s public areas, spa, retail boutique, and outlets.
- Help with setup and teardown for small internal events (e.g., boardroom florals, meeting spaces).
- Support special hotel initiatives such as holiday décor, brand events, and VIP gifting.
- Maintain floral Studio cleanliness, including sweeping, wiping surfaces, organizing supplies, and sanitizing tools.
- Track basic inventory items (vases, ribbons, floral supplies) and communicate low stock to management.
- Ensure all floral coolers meet cleanliness, temperature, and merchandising standards.
- Assist with unpacking and organizing weekly floral shipments.
- Participate in setup of the flower studio, workspace layout, and organizational systems.
- Assist with unpacking and inventorying equipment, tools, smallwares, and opening supplies.
- Help create and refine SOPs for daily floral operations, cleanliness standards, guest deliveries, and coordination with Housekeeping and Guest Experience.
- Support all soft-opening events, test runs, and training exercises as directed.
- Previous experience in florals, retail, visual merchandising, or luxury hospitality preferred.
- Strong aesthetic sense and eye for detail.
- Ability to work with fresh flowers and follow floral handling best practices.
- Excellent communication and guest service skills.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in cool environments.
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, and walk for sustained periods.
- Ability to safely handle buckets of water, floral boxes, and equipment up to 30 lbs.
- Comfortable working in cold storage rooms (floral cooler) for short intervals.
- Manual dexterity for arranging and preparing florals.
