The Food & Beverage Intern at The Cooper, will participate in a rotational learning program designed to provide comprehensive exposure to luxury dining operations. The program includes rotations through Food Runner, Server Assistant, and Server roles across The Cooper’s signature restaurant, bar, and in-room dining experiences. Interns will gain an in-depth understanding of fine dining service standards, food and beverage operations, and guest engagement in a Forbes-rated environment.

Host/Hostess Rotation
- Serve as the first point of contact, warmly welcoming guests with a genuine smile and polished demeanor.
- Manage reservations and seating plans using the restaurant’s reservation system.
- Communicate guest preferences, allergies, and special occasions to service staff.
- Maintain lobby and entryway presentation, reflecting Forbes Five-Star standards.
- Coordinate with servers and managers to ensure smooth guest flow and minimized wait times.
- Deliver dishes from the kitchen to guests with accuracy and presentation awareness.
- Communicate clearly with servers and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service flow.
- Understand menu ingredients, allergens, and preparation methods to assist in guest inquiries.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the expo and service areas.
- Support servers in resetting tables, refilling beverages, and ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Anticipate guest needs before requests are made.
- Learn pacing, sequencing, and the rhythm of fine dining service.
- Maintain side stations, polish glassware and silverware, and assist with opening/closing duties.
- Develop a thorough understanding of luxury restaurant service and guest engagement.
- Learn the art of reservation management, table pacing, and service sequencing.
- Gain confidence in guest communication, service recovery, and teamwork.
- Understand Forbes Five-Star standards in Food & Beverage settings.
- Strengthen leadership, time management, and multitasking skills essential for management roles.
- Currently enrolled in a Hospitality Management or related program.
- Passion for luxury guest service, food, and beverage operations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Professional appearance and demeanor and attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Demonstrates a genuine passion for anticipating and fulfilling guest needs.

- Comfortable learning hotel point of sales system
- Maintains professionalism and calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Works effectively with peers and leaders across departments.
- Ensures accuracy in all guest interactions and service touches.

- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours).
- Must be able to lift, carry, and transport luggage or items up to 50 pounds.

- Must be able to communicate clearly in English (verbal and written); additional languages preferred.
