As the Area Director, you will utilize a strengths-based approach to bring multiple teams together to make deliberate decisions that will drive development and growth. The Area Director must have an accomplished strategic background, effective interpersonal communication, and problem-solving skills, and possess a dynamic and energetic demeanor. In all areas of responsibility, the successful candidate will show a dedication to the Mission and Vision of CSN.
This is an exempt position with a starting wage range between $55k-$70k, based on talent, proven leadership skills, and decision-making abilities. Standard office hours are Monday through Friday; however, as services are 24/7, occasional evening and weekend availability may be required. To provide effective leadership and support, the Area Director is expected to maintain a consistent in-office presence during regular business hours.

Area Director Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and direct all functions of the Kansas CIty, MO, CSN team.
- Motivate & support employees in fulfilling our Mission and Vision.
- Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve results in all areas.
- Ensure an ongoing Quality Assurance program and develop and implement appropriate plans of action to correct deficiencies.
- Ensure that necessary forms, reports, and documentation are properly completed and contain informative descriptions of the services provided and the clients and stakeholders' responses to the services.
- Maintain client confidentiality and comply with clients' rights and Care Plan; treat clients with kindness, dignity, and respect. Assess individual and family needs by participating in community planning, discharge assessments and Care Plans to determine eligibility and identifying appropriate services to ensure they meet the needs of the clients and their families.
- Provide leadership to the Kansas City, MO, CSN team to ensure Federal and State regulatory compliance and that services are provided according to the goals and mission of our organization.
- Maintain professional competency by participating in continuous education programs such as leadership training, and seminars.
- Performs other duties as required.
Area Director Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, human services, or a related field. Experience in the field of intellectual disabilities in a supervisory capacity will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum 1 years supervisor experience required.
- Valid driver's license and current auto insurance required.
- 2 years' experience in the field of Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD) such as Autism, Behavior Disorders, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Fragile X Syndrome, and/or Mental Health Disorders such as Depression, Anxiety Disorders, Schizophrenia, Eating Disorders, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and addictive behaviors highly preferred.
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local Governmental regulations and guidelines to support individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and/or Mental Health needs preferred.
- Demonstration of proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office, and Outlook with ability to learn new applications.
- Effective communication and collaboration – the ability to effectively convey information to others as well as follow oral and written direction.
- Attention to detail and organization – the ability to prioritize and manage all duties, rules, documentation, and other components of the job with focus and accuracy.
- Confidentiality – the ability to protect data, information, and client and employee privacy.
- Compassion – the ability to be concerned for another person's well-being.
Area Director Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- This is largely a static role in an office environment with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
- Must be able to perform repetitive bending, standing, and walking
- Must be able to pass MANDT certification

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, human services or a related field is preferred, but years of experience in the field of intellectual disabilities in a supervisory capacity will be considered (must possess a high school diploma or equivalent at minimum); two years' experience in the field of intellectual disability services; and at least one year of previous supervisory experience.
Salary : $55,000 - $70,000
