JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for donor services functions which include greeting donors/guests, donor registration, cafe duties and associated clerical duties.
SCHEDULE: Part-time position, 20-25 hours/week, working a variable schedule depending on donor center and mobile blood drive hours
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Always exhibits exceptional customer service.
2. Greets and registers donors, instructs donors to review ReadyDonor information and answer Donor Heath History Questionnaire.
3. Greets guests/contractors and contacts appropriate blood center personnel. Notifies appropriate CBC personnel of deliveries.
4. As needed, performs donor registration activities at alternate fixed sites and mobile blood drives.
5. As needed, performs café attendant duties.
a. Monitors donors for any adverse post-donation reactions and summons assistance from the collection staff.
b. Serves refreshments to donors. Replenishes the refreshments and cafe supplies. Maintains a clean, neat setting in the cafe, including any housekeeping tasks indicated.
6. Monitors and submits supply order forms to purchasing agent on a timely basis.
7. As directed, assists in training of new employees and volunteers.
8. Encourages donors to schedule future donation appointments prior to their departing.
9. Provides donors with information regarding the blood center, blood donation types and/or CBC programs and their donation level.
10. Assist donor and promote donor app, Lifesaver Rewards and all marketing promotions.
11. Demonstrates knowledge of applications/software used by department including, but not limited to: MS Office, HemaConnect, HemaCollect, Ready Donor, Donor App, Volgistics, Employee Portal, UKG, Concur.
12. Assists with clerical, reception tasks and any other duties as assigned.
13. Complies with all policies and procedures as outlined in the CBC Employee Handbook, CBC SOPs or directives. Maintains current level of job-related skills by attending in-service, training sessions and reading publications.
- This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to relate well with others.
- Strong, flexible interpersonal, data entry/computer skills.
- Must be attentive to detail and possess good follow through skills.
- Must maintain confidentiality of CBC and donor information.
- Must act in a professional manner.
- Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and the ability to travel throughout the service territory to mobile blood drives and donation centers are required for this position.
- Employee may occasionally be required to lift objects or materials weighing up to 35 pounds.
