Bread for Life & Work Based Learning [Student Applicant]

The Classic Center
Athens, GA Full Time
POSTED ON 6/18/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 7/17/2026
Real work. Real pay. Real experience. Bread for Life is where it begins.

Bread for Life: Career Connect is a paid work/study opportunity for Athens-area youth ages 16 to 21 to earn while they learn. With guidance from industry professionals, you'll explore careers in sports & entertainment event planning, hospitality marketing, sales, food & beverage, and tourism. You'll gain real-world experience in a supportive environment at The Classic Center.

Those selected to interview will be notified soon, so look for an email with instructions on how to schedule time to meet with our selection committee.

What You'll Do

Get hands-on training and build entry-level skills in frontline roles like Event Setup, Housekeeping, Parking, Guest Services, and Banquet Services. These roles will be discussed in detail during your interview. Work-Based Learning [WBL] students are encouraged to apply, and eligible students can earn school credit through this opportunity.

Who We're Looking For

We’re selecting 10 motivated young adults (ages 16–21) who are ready to take their first step into the workforce with energy, curiosity, and a strong work ethic.

How To Apply

Upload a resume and/or a short cover letter. Be sure to include details about your school involvement, volunteer work, or any experience that shows who you are. This is a competitive opportunity, so a thoughtful one-page cover letter in addition to OR in place of your resume will make you a standout among other applicants.

Choose one of these questions for your cover letter submission and upload it when prompted:

      • Why do you want to be part of the Bread for Life Work/Study program, and how do you hope it will impact your future?
      • How do you think being part of a team helps you grow as a person and a professional?
      • If you could learn one skill to help you succeed in your first job, what would it be and why?
      • What interests you about working in hospitality, and what do you hope to learn from this experience?
All applicants offered a position must successfully pass a drug screen and a criminal background check.
