POSITION DETAILS
Central Office Human Resources (COHR) at The City University of New York (CUNY), positioned within the University Human Resources Office (UHR), is an integral service-oriented department that provides employee facing HR services to the Chancellery and University employees working in various CUNY administrative offices located across New York City and Albany, NY.
Reporting to the Administrative Executive Officer, the HR Coordinator will support a range of human resources functions to ensure efficient daily operations and high-quality service delivery. The incumbent will assist with maintaining personnel records, supporting HR processes, and ensuring compliance with applicable policies and procedures. The HR Coordinator will contribute to the development and maintenance of HR Information Systems while providing support to employees and departments across the organization.

Until further notice, this position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
Qualifications
Minimum:
Bachelor's Degree required.
Preferred
Provides information and services to the College community to support the Human Resources function.

Compensation And Benefits
The salary range is $ 50,500 - $63,003, commensurate with credentials, education, and experience.
CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases. Once implemented, salaries of eligible employees will be adjusted by 3.5% effective 9/1/26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.

- Support day-to-day human resources functions, including maintaining accurate employee records and documentation.
- Assist with HR-related data entry, tracking, and reporting to ensure timely and accurate information.
- Provide support for various HR processes such as onboarding, employee transactions, and personnel changes.
- Help monitor and maintain compliance with HR policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Respond to general HR inquiries and provide guidance to employees and departments as needed.
- Assist with audits, record reviews, and data reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Support HR communications, including employee notifications and compliance-related messaging.
- Collaborate with HR team members on special projects and process improvements.
- Provide general administrative support to the HR office as needed.

Qualifications
Minimum:
Bachelor's Degree required.
Preferred
- One year of experience working in a higher education or an equivalent setting preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel and Access and PowerPoint.
- Experience with PeopleSoft or Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) systems.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team setting with diverse staff of all levels.
- Strong data analytical and evaluative skills.
- Detail oriented, self-directed, motivated and proactive.
Provides information and services to the College community to support the Human Resources function.
- Prepares and executes various personnel transactions involving employee recordkeeping, processing of new hires, pay administration, and recruiting
- Maintains an understanding of policies, procedures, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements relevant to human resources
- Organizes and processes employee information; develops and maintains reports and queries; assures data accuracy and completeness
- Responds to requests for information; troubleshoots issues, follows up and responds to employee inquiries
- Assists HR managers with employee communications of all kinds; may prepare materials, conduct orientation sessions, or update web pages
- Performs related duties as assigned.
