What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fire Medic III position at The City of Millbrook?
This position will be divided between fire suppression and emergency medical services. Fire-Medics will handle both types of emergencies, fire and ambulance. Applicants will work in unity with the volunteer members of the fire department. Applicant must be an Alabama State Certified Firefighter and an Alabama State Certified EMT III level. Applicant will provide medical care and firefighting protection to the citizens of the City of Millbrook and it's police jurisdiction.
This position will also require applicant to perform vehicle maintenance, station maintenance, and other non emergency duties as prescribed by the Fire Chief. Applicant will perform fire inspections on building and dwellings as well as inspections of fire hydrants and fire prevention classes for the public.
This position may require prolonged periods of time sitting and standing. This position will require some heavy lifting. The work environment may become stressful at times. Applicant must be able to work shift schedules, to include weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications are that applicant be an Alabama State Certified Firefighter and Alabama State Certified EMT III level.
