The City of Lampasas is currently accepting applications for a Part-time Library Clerk.
Summary of Position
Duties include handling the day-to-day operational tasks of the library, including assisting patrons, providing instruction on library use, and handling the circulation of materials; cataloging, shelving, locating, and maintaining books and other library materials. Part-time hours are daily, Monday through Friday, and some Saturdays. Must be available to work some Saturdays and evenings.
Starting salary is $12.88 per hour, plus partial benefits.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of: library operations and reference systems; literature and research materials; standard word processing software; inventory techniques; and computers.
Skill/Ability to: work well with children and adults; operate a computer, standard office equipment, and standard audio-visual equipment; display strong research skills; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the general public.
Acceptable Experience and Training
o High School diploma or GED;
o or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities;
o Previous library experience preferred
