This position performs clerical work in the Code Enforcement Division of the Development Services Department.
Prepares Code Enforcement Board Hearing, Ticket Appeal Hearing, and Special Master Hearing agendas utilizing GovQA software, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel. Maintains Code Enforcement Division related hyperlinks to ensure website information is current.
Records proceedings of the Code Enforcement Board Hearing, Ticket Appeal Hearing, Special Master Hearing, and Red Light Camera Hearing utilizing GovQA software and the red light camera vendor website.
Assists in preparation of Code Enforcement Board Hearing files, which includes scheduling cases utilizing software program and preparation/certified mailing of necessary documentation. Maintains post hearing files and schedules follow up inspections for Code Enforcement Officer.
Prepares Ticket Appeal Hearing files, which includes scheduling cases in the software program and preparation/certified mailing of necessary documentation.
Prepares Special Master hearing files, which includes scheduling cases in the software program and preparation/certified mailing of necessary documentation.
Records code enforcement related liens in Miami-Dade County. The recording process involves collaboration with the City Attorney’s Office to research and prepare legal documentation, which requires approval through the Deputy City Attorney’s Office.
Releases code enforcement related liens recorded in Miami-Dade County. The release process involves collaboration with the City Attorney’s Office to research and prepare legal documentation, which requires approval through the Deputy City Attorney’s Office.
Responds to radio calls from other departments/divisions regarding code enforcement related issues.
Calculates and collects code enforcement related fees. Maintains records of fees, recorded liens, and releases of liens.
Prepares property lien searches, which involves extensive research of multiple systems and preparation of a lien results letter with backup documentation.
Answers phones and emails Code Enforcement Officers with phone based complaints.
Serves as liaison for the Code Enforcement Board members and the Hearing Officers regarding any City related matters.
Assists walk-in customers, including City staff and the public.
Assists in ordering office supplies.
Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
Assists with duties as directed by the Code Enforcement Director.
Performs other related tasks as required.
A comparable amount of training or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
Valid Florida Driver's License.
