What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Information Analyst position at The City of Coral Gables?
Employees in this position are responsible for working directly with the public explaining departmental procedures and providing general guidance to ensure that the entire process is completed in accordance with policies and procedures.
The incumbent maintains policies, standard operation procedures, strategies, project goals, and milestones for large and highly complex permit technology & enterprise software, systems, and their applications, liaising with Innovation & Technology staff as needed for additional support.

The employee must work within general methods and procedures and exercise considerable independent judgement to adapt and apply Department guidelines to specific situations.
Analyzes the nature and cause of processing errors to identify areas needing improvement in the Department’s processes.
Serves as liaison with staff and management concerning error trends and problem areas, working with the Development Services Director for solutions and implementation.
Remains informed of cutting-edge technologies and advancements in municipal building programs.
Coordinates project tasks with IT division.
Reviews departmental requests for technology and makes recommendations, as appropriate.
Evaluates technology and makes recommendations to ensure compatibility and effectiveness.
Plans, schedules, and reviews the work of consultants and support staff.
Maintains records, prepares reports, and composes correspondence relative to the work.
Analyzes the efficiency of all computer systems and proposes enhancements.
Provides hardware and software maintenance and support for systems, databases and applications. Provides hardware and software support and troubleshooting for Department personnel. When necessary, meets with software vendor representatives and Information Technology Team members to resolve issues with hardware and software.
Assists the Director or Designee with maintaining and updating the software Training Manual and assists with ensuring staff abides with all therein by identifying staff development and training needs and ensuring training is provided or obtained.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
3 Years of Experience in Building Department Administration or Permitting
3 Years of Experience in Permit Tracking Software combined with IT work experience
Or
Equivalent combinations of education and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be evaluated on an individual basis.
Valid Florida Driver's License.
Salary : $83,486 - $129,404
