JOB DUTIES:
- Organizes food preparation and service and supervises staff to ensure that food is prepared and served within scheduled time frame, and made according to the regular and therapeutic menus.
- Monitors the distribution of nourishment, supplements, and meals to residents and takes corrective action when necessary.
- Attends mandatory in-service education programs
- Understands and follows all safety, sanitation, fire and disaster and personnel policies and procedures.
- Discusses and problems, needs or concerns regarding the Dietary Department with Department Head.
- Assumes responsibility in promoting and maintaining positive employees’ relations and effective communications among facility staff.
- Upholds the Resident’s Bill of Rights and all residents’ information confidential.
- Wears proper uniform as outlined in the department dress code and maintains good personal hygiene
Preferred Qualifications:
- B.S. Degree in Food Services Technology/Management, Dietetics or related field; or Associate’s Degree plus three (3) years of directly related experience preferred
- Minimum of three (3) years of acute or long-term care experience preferred, depending upon formal degree or training
- One (1) to three (3) years of direct food service operational management experience, preferably in an acute or long-term care setting
- Knowledge of P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience is desirable
- Must be willing to participate in patient/resident satisfaction programs/activities
- ServSafe certified highly desirable.
