Job Description
Join a fun, tightknit, and highly functional team tasked with creating excellent content that inspires people around the world to engage in family history and connect with their families.
Prepare blog articles for translation in over 20 languages. Publish translations and original language content using the Brightspot CMS system. Work with in-country managers and others to develop a publishing calendar and improve the team’s international content strategy.
Responsibilities
Translation Management. Identify articles with good potential for translation and accept translation requests. Send, track, and manage translations using the CMS system, Monday.com, and other programs.
Editorial Support. Review and sometimes edit English articles for international relevance and optimization. Help train international staff on our team’s SEO and editorial best practices to help them produce content in multiple languages. Request feedback from international staff and support their content publishing priorities.
Online Publishing Support. Prepare translations for publication, including scanning translations for layout mistakes, missing content, and other errors. Facilitate content through the publishing process using the Brightspot platform. Help find images and create translated screenshots to support blog and newsroom content as needed.
Content Strategy Support. Support international content strategy campaigns and initiatives. Perform content analytics and optimizations, as assigned. May manage international blog comments.
SEO. Learn how to do international keyword research to find terms and phrases that will be used in blog articles and content strategy.
Tracking and Reporting. Assist in maintaining needful documentation and filing systems required to support productive workflow and reporting. Other Projects as Assigned. Assist with other team projects as needed. May include writing, editing, and otherwise aiding or developing international content strategy initiatives.

Experience
QUALIFICATIONS
- Fluency in at least one foreign language preferred
- Genuine interest in international content strategy and languages
- Translation experience or training is a plus
- Strong people, organization, and project management skills
- Experience using a CMS (content management system) like Brightspot or Wordpress is a bonus
- Experience using translation software may be helpful
- Bachelor’s (or near completion) in Translation, Languages, International Relations, Translation Mangement, Communications, Marketing, Editing, Publishing, Journalism or related. Must be a current or recent (within a year) student.
