Director of Residential

Founded in 1876, The Children's Home of Kingston provides a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for youth and families. Our mission is to strengthen their ability to make positive choices through education, structure, and compassionate care. We are currently seeking a Residential Director to help continue our legacy of making a lasting impact in the lives of young people.

Job Responsibilities:

• Planning and the implementation of the goals and objectives of the residents.
• Programmatic and administrative compliance with internal procedures.
• Serve as the program quality assurance officer by conducting on-site monitoring.
• Communicate compliance indicators to program staff; provide monitoring tools to local staff.
• Directly supervise upper-level management and administrative functions of the program.
• Support the organization's administration in the development and implementation of care and treatment for the youth.
• Oversee all support services of the program, which include Clinical, Case Management, Educational, Medical, and residential.
• Establishing a workplace environment that is respectful and supportive of residents, staff, and external stakeholders.
• Maintain and evaluate data to determine and improve outcomes and program efficacy.
• After-hours On-Call duties as required.
• All other duties as assigned, including direct supervisor or the Chief Executive Officer.

Qualifications:

• Ability to speak, read, and writes English, which allows full communication with agency staff and third parties.
• Working knowledge of computer accounting system, spreadsheet, and word processing software (Excel and Word), knowledge of Connections helpful
• Possess a valid NYS Driver’s License 
• Ability to use sound judgment while following agency policies, practices and procedures
• Ability to handle confidential material in a responsible manner
• Ability to work well in a team setting with people from many cultures and backgrounds
• Must have positive attitude towards families in need
• Ability to adjust to change as the program continues to develop an understanding of, and the ability to work with, persons from diverse cultures
• Master’s degree in social work (MSW) or an equivalent degree in education, psychology, sociology, or other relevant behavioral science degree
• Bachelor’s degree in one of the aforementioned behavioral sciences plus five (5) years’ experience in child welfare administration, child protective services; and, 2 years of experience in program management, or as director position of a licensed childcare program may qualify
