What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Assistant Teachers position at The Children's Center at Groton?
The Children's Center at Groton is seeking summer assistant teachers to work as floaters across all 4 of our classrooms (infant, toddler, preschool, and pre-k). Our Reggio-inspired school is seeking early childhood educators who have a strong belief in a play-based approach to learning. The position is full time over the summer ( June-August) but could start sooner if available.
Responsibilities for this position include:
- interacting/playing/reading/singing with the children in the classroom
- daily care routines such as diapering and bottle feeding
- assisting in administering snack/lunch
- the ability to sit on the ground and get up and down easily
- cleaning and sanitizing in the classroom throughout the day
- assisting the main classroom teachers as needed
*Floaters must have the ability to easily adapt to working in different classrooms with different ages.
The hours of this position are 40 hours per week currently 8:00-4:00.
E EC teacher certification is preferred, but not required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
