Summary:
This position is the first-line supervisor responsible for the quality of probation and pretrial services performed by adult probation officers and legal administrative staff for the Chickasaw Nation District Court. Will provide direct supervision of the Legal Aide position(s) and the Adult Probation Officer I and II's. The Senior Manager, Adult Probation is responsible for driving organizational excellence while leading and coordinating programs of the adult probation office. Requires integrity, initiative, teamwork, creativity, flexibility, as well as a high degree of technical expertise and a demonstrated desire to lead.
- Maintains knowledge of relevant statutes, case law, policies and regulations pertinent to leading a tribal adult probation office
- Assigns and schedules work of the adult probation office to maintain sufficient court docket coverage at all court locations
- Manages the probation office workflow between Adult Case Workers and legal administrative staff
- Leads the development and operation of the probation case filing system and electronic case management system
- Collaborates with Office of Tribal Justice Administration leadership to develop policies. processes and guidance documents that wi11 govern the operation of the adult probation office
- Collaborates with Adult Case Workers, providing direction and assistance to the officers
- Mentors and trains adult Case Workers and legal administrative staff
- Assists adult Case Workers in meeting the needs of persons under adult probation supervision with complex challenges and/or circumstances
- Evaluates the job performance of Adult Case Workers and legal administrative staff on a formal and informal basis
- Provides leadership in the development of pretrial supervision services, sentencing alternatives, and specialty court supervision, including, but not limited to, healing to wellness court and other specialty courts
- Serves as point of contact for law enforcement agencies, state and local probation offices, law enforcement agencies and the Oklahoma Department of Corrections regarding offenders who are the subject of criminal prosecution by the Chickasaw Nation
- Reviews pretrial and presentence reports and investigations to ensure compliance with tribal law and policies. Collaborates with officers on recommendations for release, detention and sentencing
- Oversees and supervises home visits of adult probationers conducted by Adult Case Workers.
- Manages GPS tracking systems and operations for the probation office
- Manages the cases referred by the Detention Administration prosecution team and filed in the Chickasaw Nation District Court
- Provides customer service to law enforcement or other agencies seeking information or guidance on the Chickasaw Nation criminal probation operations
- Responsible for staff relationships and morale and encourages a collegial work environment for all
- Acts as court liaison
- Oversees the sex offender supervision by Adult Case Workers
- Coordinates probation services provided by other agencies or entities
- Performs all other duties as assigned
