Community Health Worker – Contract Position

The Bridge Center for Health Education is seeking motivated, community-minded individuals to serve as Community Health Workers (CHWs). CHWs help connect our programs with schools, organizations, and community partners by conducting outreach, building relationships, identifying opportunities, and representing The Bridge Center at community events.

Responsibilities include:

• Build relationships with schools, organizations, and community partners.
• Conduct and document community outreach and follow-up.
• Identify potential events, presentations, partnerships, and other outreach opportunities.
• Represent The Bridge Center at approved community events and meetings.
• Share program information and educational resources.
• Maintain accurate documentation of outreach activities and results.
• Meet established monthly outreach and performance expectations.
• Submit timely and detailed activity reports and timesheets.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, dependable, organized, and comfortable reaching out to people and organizations in their community. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential. Applicants should be able to work independently while maintaining regular communication with program staff.

This is a part-time independent contractor position with variable hours based on program needs and approved activities. Maximum available hours are not guaranteed. Some evening and weekend availability may be required for community events.

Compensation: $18/hour

Location: Community-based within assigned county/counties (Autauga, Barbour, Bullock, Dale, Henry, and Lowndes, Macon, Pike). We are seeking 1 CHW for each county.

• Successful candidates will receive additional information regarding specific responsibilities, documentation requirements, monthly performance expectations, and program goals prior to contracting.
