Responsibilities
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each child's unique needs, including behavioral health strategies and educational goals.
- Assist children with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting to promote independence.
- Apply behavioral therapy techniques and applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles to encourage positive behaviors and skill development.
- Collect and document data related to behavior management, progress tracking, and medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support children during therapy sessions by facilitating teaching activities aligned with special education standards.
- Maintain a safe environment by monitoring children closely, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and managing behavior challenges effectively.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including medical professionals, therapists, and educators—to update care plans and document progress accurately.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children, especially those with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of behavioral health concepts, behavior management techniques, and medical terminology relevant to pediatric care.
- Familiarity with data collection methods used in applied behavior analysis (ABA) and behavior therapy settings.
- Ability to assist with ADLs safely and compassionately while encouraging independence.
- Strong communication skills for working effectively with children, families, and healthcare teams.
