Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm

Our client, a leading diagnostics company, is focused on advancing women’s health through next-generation molecular diagnostic testing. They are building a state-of-the-art CLIA certified molecular laboratory that integrates advanced automation, digital LIMS platforms, and data-driven quality systems to deliver accurate, efficient, and scalable testing.
As a Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT), you will play a key role in supporting the clinical laboratory by performing essential pre-analytical and lab support functions under the supervision of licensed testing personnel. You will assist with day-to-day operations, routine equipment maintenance, specimen receipt and accessioning, and quality assurance procedures while complying with all local, state, and federal laboratory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, verify, and accession biological specimens according to SOPs and quality standards.
- Perform pre-analytical activities such as labeling, reagent preparation, and sample storage.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments (centrifuges, extraction platforms) following maintenance schedules and documentation practices.
- Support licensed testing personnel with workflow staging while maintaining chain of custody and traceability.
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with CAP/CLIA/NYS requirements.
- Monitor routine laboratory housekeeping, inventory control, and environmental checks for inspection readiness.
- Follow biosafety, chemical safety, and waste-management protocols.
- Assist with laboratory experiments and quality checks under supervision by providing accurate data and documentation.
- Communicate equipment malfunctions or procedural issues promptly.
- Participate in training, competency assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Clean labware, equipment, and benches.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, or biological science (or equivalent meeting CLIA & CA requirements).
- 2 years of hands-on experience in a clinical laboratory environment.
- Experience working in CLIA/CAP-regulated environments.
- NGS experience (hands-on or operational familiarity) required.
- Experience with LIMS or electronic recordkeeping (preferred).
- Experience with liquid handling automation required.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and adherence to SOPs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a startup lab environment.
The Compensation Range for this position is: $36.06 - $43.27/hour. Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
