Adjunct Hiring Pool - English Department

This is an open pool posting and applicants will be contacted only if a suitable position becomes available. Pool may be used to fill vacancies for the Fall 2025 - Summer 2026.

This pool expires 05/31/2026. Applicants wishing to remain in this pool past 05/31/2026, must reapply at that time.

Position Summary:

Temporary, part-time adjunct faculty in the Department of English, which offers programs in English literature; English Education; Writing, Editing, and Publishing; and Film Studies. Candidates must be available to teach face-to-face, not remotely. Please note that the majority of adjunct teaching opportunities is available in the area of college writing. Additionally, there is currently need for Film Studies instruction for introductory and genre courses.

Minimum Qualifications:

MA or equivalent in a discipline appropriate to the one in which the candidate wishes to teach (e.g., Rhetoric and Composition, English, English Education, Film Studies)

Commitment to and evidence of quality instruction at the college level.

Preferred Qualifications:

PhD in a discipline appropriate to the one in which the candidate wishes to teach (e.g., Rhetoric and Composition, English, English Education, Film Studies)

Past record of successful college-level teaching experience in the discipline of employment.

Experience using the Canvas learning platform and with courses that have received Quality Matters approval

This position is contingent on funding from the Colorado State Legislature, approval by the Board of Trustees, and subject to the policies and regulations of the University of Northern Colorado.
