Applicants hired from the Lateral Police Officer Hire List will be assigned to the Patrol Division and eligible for collateral assignments based on performance and qualification.

The Braidwood Police Department is seeking qualified applicants to establish a Lateral Hire List for the position of Full-Time Police Officer.
Applicants hired from the Lateral Police Officer Hire List will be assigned to the Patrol Division and eligible for collateral assignments based on performance and qualification.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a certified Police Officer in the State of Illinois
- Must have at least 2 years of full-time law enforcement experience
- Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
- May not have been convicted of a felony, a crime of moral turpitude or any misdemeanor specifically listed in Section 10-2.1-6 of the Act, 65 ILCS 5/10-2.16 as amended
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and professionalism
- Pass background investigation, including a Polygraph and Psychological Examination
