Officers can earn at least $118,782 annually after two years of service, depending on qualifications and placement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years old at the time of application.
  • Must be under 35 years old at the time of application and final eligibility list posting unless exempt under applicable Illinois law.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be able to read and speak English.
  • Must successfully complete all required pre-employment screenings, including medical examinations and background investigations.
