JOB SUMMARY:
The Aircraft Mechanic II performs maintenance, repair, overhaul, and modification of aircraft structures and mechanical systems of moderate to high complexity, including flight controls, engines, landing gear, wheels and brakes, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, guns, hydrozene, batteries, hydrostats and associated mechanical components with the possibility of all organic or non-organic (NORG) aircraft/missile components.
Qualifications:BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- No less than five (5) years’ of general experience in maintaining aircraft.
- Solid, demonstrated ability to work well with others, especially within small, close workforce, good interpersonal communication skills are highly desired.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen, be able to acquire and maintain any and all necessary security clearances and be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Competent with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to diagnose malfunctions, determine corrective actions, and restore equipment to proper operating condition
- Interpret technical documents such as blueprints, engineering drawings, and manufacturer manuals
- Possess thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical troubleshooting, sheet metal repair, structural modification, component replacement, and basic electrical theory
- Perform a range of electroplating work including operations that require plating or treatment of limited or precisely defined areas on parts; require special treatment and processing, to include but not limited to shot peening and blast, to ensure adherence of the metallic deposit or coating; or require extensive or precise controls of the electrolytic or chemical process
- Be proficient in the use of aircraft-specific tools including test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes, and shears
- Maintain working knowledge of applicable technical publications and shall make accurate entries in aircraft logs and records when required
- Support repair and overhaul of landing gear, fuel tanks, pylons, screw jacks, hydraulics, and pneudraulics across multiple aircraft platforms including, but not limited to, C-5, C-17, C-130, B-1B, B-2, B-52, KC-135, A-10, T-38, E-2, E-3, F-4, F-15, F-16, F-22, F-35, MH-53, and MH-60.
