Senior Façade Engineer / Architect – Building Envelope Specialist

We are a multidisciplinary engineering and architecture consulting firm specializing in building envelope systems, façade rehabilitation, structural evaluation, and forensic investigations. Our work supports complex commercial, residential, and institutional buildings where technical accuracy, field expertise, and practical repair solutions are essential.
We are expanding our façade engineering practice in the New York–New Jersey region and are seeking a senior technical professional to lead façade-focused investigations and rehabilitation projects.
Position Overview
The Senior Façade Engineer/Architect will lead façade inspection, evaluation, and rehabilitation projects from field investigation through technical reporting and repair recommendations. This role serves as the technical lead on façade and building envelope assignments, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong field presence and advanced technical expertise in façade systems and building envelope performance.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Lead façade and building envelope inspection and rehabilitation projects
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, standards, and regulations
- Review investigation reports, drawings, and technical specifications
- Provide technical guidance on façade system performance and deficiencies
Field Investigations
- Conduct and oversee façade inspections and condition assessments
- Perform field testing, measurements, and documentation of building conditions
- Identify deterioration, deficiencies, and structural concerns
- Prepare field sketches, photos, and detailed inspection notes
Engineering & Reporting
- Prepare and review technical reports and engineering documentation
- Develop repair recommendations and technical solutions
- Conduct peer reviews of engineering deliverables
- Support forensic analysis and technical evaluations when required
Client & Project Coordination
- Participate in client meetings and present technical findings
- Coordinate with contractors, architects, and consultants
- Support project execution from investigation through completion
- Mentor junior engineers and support technical development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Architecture
- 5 years of façade, structural, or building envelope consulting experience
- PE or RA license required
- Strong knowledge of façade systems and building envelope performance
- FISP experience strongly preferred
- OSHA-10 preferred
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Valid U.S. driver’s license required
