Job Title: The Bar Method Bend Instructor

Position Overview:
Once certified and through ongoing continuing educational workshops and training, you will have the knowledge base to design and deliver engaging and challenging Bar Method classes, providing guidance and modifications to accommodate various fitness levels. As an instructor, you will play a crucial role in creating a supportive and inspiring environment that encourages strength, growth, health, and community.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Teaching
- Actively participate in and complete The Bar Method instructor certification to become a certified Bar Method instructor.
- Plan and deliver safe, effective, and engaging Bar Method classes that align with our class formats, our safety guidelines, and member goals, using equipment and props as needed.
- Ability to prepare for and teach at least four in-studio classes per week.
- Ability to teach early morning, mid-day, and/or evening.
- Engage with clients and learn their names.
- Effectively instruct, educate, and physically demonstrate proper form and technique, offering Bar Method modifications and adjustments to meet individual needs and abilities.
- Provide personalized feedback and coaching to help clients achieve their fitness goals through verbal and/or hands-on adjustments when appropriate.
- Attend all regular meetings and workshops within the studio and virtually online.
- Arrive at the studio at least 15 minutes before class time to prepare the studio before each class, ensuring a clean, safe and organized environment, and greet incoming clients.
- Stay up to 15 minutes after class to answer client questions, check in with new leads and connect them with sales associates.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the studio’s policies and safety procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the studio at all times.
- Demonstrate reliability and punctuality with class schedule and studio expectations.
- While teaching class, ability to stand, walk, talk, hear, and communicate with clients.
- Ability to listen to loud music while teaching class, during practice sessions, and during instructor certification training.
- Ability to speak into a microphone while teaching class.
Membership Engagement and Retention
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with clients and other Bar Method instructors, staff, and management.
- Build strong relationships with clients, creating a welcoming and supportive environment.
- Greet clients and address their needs, inquiries, and concerns before and after classes.
- Actively participate in other studio offerings, such as pop-up classes, challenges, and work closely with other team members to drive sales, and increase client engagement and retention.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Studio Operations
- Collaborate with management and other team members to ensure smooth operations, delightful client experience, and a positive studio environment and community.
- Perform administrative tasks as assigned including, but not limited to, answering phones, processing payments, checking clients in for their classes, and following up with leads.
- Attend all mandatory meetings.
- Communicate concerns quickly to management.
Qualifications and Skills
- Excellent verbal communication, teamwork, punctuality, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and address conflict in a positive, professional manner.
- Ability to connect with people and create a positive and inclusive class environment.
- Ability to use computer software programs to track client attendance and print client lists.
- Ability to read and respond to work-related emails or other electronic communications.
- Ability to take online courses and perform and complete online quizzes.
- Strong musicality and the ability to recognize and count to the beat of the music.
- Ability to amplify your personality when teaching.
- Ability to physically observe clients during class and provide hands-on adjustments when appropriate.
- Dexterity to hear and implement feedback on the spot.
- Ability to memorize class outlines and scripts, and verbally guide clients through classes that vary between 45 to 75 minutes long.
- CPR/AED certification is a plus.
