A/R Manager

The Axel Group is seeking an AR Manager to join our clients team based out of Jackson NJ. Out client is a trusted leader in commercial and residential landscaping, known for quality craftsmanship and long-standing client relationships. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has hands-on experience managing the full accounts receivable cycle, including AIA billing and collections. The ideal candidate will ensure accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism in all client billing interactions.

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare, process, and submit AIA billing applications accurately and on schedule — AIA billing experience is required.

· Generate, review, and send approximately 75–150 invoices per month, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with project requirements.

· Manage the full AR cycle, including tracking outstanding balances, following up on overdue accounts, and maintaining strong client communication.

· Monitor retainage and payment schedules to ensure proper tracking and timely collection.

· Maintain AR aging reports, reconcile accounts, and support month-end close processes.

· Utilize QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel daily for billing, reporting, and data management.

· Collaborate with project managers and accounting leadership to resolve billing issues and ensure proper documentation.

Qualifications

· 2–4 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, preferably in construction, landscaping, or a related industry.

· Hands-on AIA billing experience is mandatory.

· Strong understanding of retainage, payment schedules, and collections processes.

· Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs).

· Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.

· Proven ability to handle high invoice volume with accuracy and efficiency.
