Brooklyn FC is seeking a Video Analyst Intern for its USL Super League team. The Video Analyst will support the coaching staff by collecting, analysing and presenting tactical data, delivering actionable insights through video analysis, statistical reporting and opponent scouting to enhance individual player development and team performance. Location: Whippany, NJ. Position type: Internship (open for immediate hire).
Key responsibilities: Match & training analysis - capture, code and analyse match and training footage using industry-standard software; provide post-match video breakdowns for the team and individual players; identify tactical trends, strengths, weaknesses and key moments. Opposition scouting - conduct detailed analysis of upcoming opponents (playing style, patterns, set-piece tendencies) and prepare scouting reports and video presentations. Player development support - create individual player clips and feedback packages and track player progress using video and data metrics. Performance data & reporting - use GPS, event data and other tools to monitor physical and tactical outputs, and produce dashboards, reports and presentations; collaborate with sports science and medical teams on load management. Technology & workflow - maintain video libraries, tagging systems and analysis databases, ensuring best practices in data organisation and confidentiality.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Sports Science, Data Analytics, Video Analysis or a related field; experience in soccer video analysis (academy, collegiate, semi-pro or professional); proficiency with Hudl, Sportscode, Wyscout or similar; strong understanding of soccer tactics, team structure and match dynamics; ability to communicate insights effectively to coaches and players. Preferred: familiarity with GPS systems (Catapult, Statsports), data-visualisation tools (Excel, Tableau, Power BI), live coding and real-time insight delivery, and strong organisational and time-management skills.
