Position Overview
Looking for a fun, meaningful summer role that builds real experience?
The Art Farm NYC is hiring Assistant Camp Teachers to support our Summer 2026 programs. This role is ideal for college students, recent graduates, or early-career professionals interested in education, childcare, psychology, or youth development.
As an Assistant Camp Teacher, you’ll work alongside Lead Teachers to support children ages 2–9 in a creative, hands-on learning environment that includes art, outdoor play, nature exploration, and interactive activities.
Schedule
Core Schedule:
- Monday – Friday
- 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Optional Additional Hours:
- Extended Day: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
What You’ll Do
- Support Lead Teachers in daily classroom and camp activities
- Supervise and actively engage with children in a safe environment
- Assist with arts & crafts, structured play, and outdoor activities
- Help manage group routines and transitions throughout the day
- Encourage positive behavior, teamwork, and creativity
- Maintain a clean, organized, and structured classroom space
- Communicate effectively with staff and families
- Participate in staff training and team collaboration
What We’re Looking For
- Positive, energetic, and dependable
- Interest in gaining experience as an Assistant Camp Teacher or in education/childcare
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to stay engaged in a fast-paced, active environment
- Previous experience working with children is a plus—but not required
