What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder position at The Armor Group, Inc.?
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for tack-up and finish weld of various weldments and components. They must be able to tack up and weld to exact tolerances and to finish product with grinders and sanders. This position will be using ten – thirty ton crane in a safe manner.
Responsibilities include:
- GMAW (MIG) welding on mild steel and stainless
- Square up and weld various components
- Able to assemble components to fixtures and weld
- Additional items as assigned by manager
PRINCIPAL CONTACTS INSIDE/OUTSIDE THE COMPANY
This position interacts with other trades in and outside of their area including welders, Quality Control, plumbers, Project Managers and Engineering.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High school education/Vocational education
- Welding training/education
- Able to meet 1 of the following Certifications requirements: Military , MIG (GMAW) Plate, TIG (GTAW) Plate or Aluminum MIG (GMAW).
EQUIPMENT USED
MIG welders, grinders, sanders, fork truck, various lift assist devices
WORKING AND PHYSICAL CONDITIONS
Work will be performed on the Manufacturing Floor. Some lifting, climbing and kneeling are required.
