Overview:
A scrap metal processing company specializing in titanium and high-grade super alloys is seeking a qualified hands-on Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Manager will lead the maintenance program consisting of various equipment and facility responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of experience working with heavy equipment and facilities in the manufacturing industry. This is a full-time, on-site position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement maintenance procedures and schedules to ensure efficient operation of equipment and facilities.
- Supervise and coordinate the work of maintenance staff, including assigning tasks and providing guidance.
- Inspect equipment and facilities regularly to identify issues and implement preventive maintenance measures.
- Oversee repairs and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for maintenance services and repairs as needed.
- Maintain inventory of spare parts and equipment and ensure adequate stock levels.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards in all maintenance activities.
- Develop and monitor maintenance budgets, including tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Train maintenance staff on safety procedures and proper maintenance techniques.
- Implement and maintain maintenance management / PM systems to track work orders, equipment history, and maintenance schedules.
- Evaluate the performance of maintenance staff and provide feedback and coaching as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to support their maintenance needs and coordinate facility improvements.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in maintenance management.
- Prepare reports and presentations on maintenance activities and performance metrics for senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field preferred
- Proven experience in maintenance management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and standards related to maintenance operations.
- Proficiency in maintenance management software and tools.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and safety.
- Experience working with vendors and contractors.
- Familiarity with budgeting and cost control principles.
- Certifications in maintenance management or related fields are a plus.
