The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full-Time Information Technology (IT) Specialist (Network Services/Customer Support) (GS-2210-09/11) to work at the 55th Communications Squadron, Offutt Air Force Base (AFB), Bellevue, Nebraska.
This is a Developmental Position - GS-09 to Target GS-11.
This position may be filled at the GS-09 or 11 level. Attainment of knowledge, skills, and abilities is required before promotion to the next higher grade and is dependent on demonstrated ability to perform the duties of the next higher grade level, meeting all regulatory requirements, and recommendation for promotion by the supervisor. Promotion is neither implied nor guaranteed.
Salary: $68,545 - $97,867 per year based on experience.
Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.

Qualifications/Requirements:
In this position you will serve as an Information Technology (IT) specialist responsible for base level administration, operation, and maintenance of the installation's computer network and for providing technical assistance, training, and support to management and customers.
U.S. Citizenship (Required)
This is a designated Drug Testing Position
Must be able to obtain and maintain a "Top Secret" security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
Must possess a valid driver's license.
This is a Mission Essential & Key Position. Active Guard and Reserve personnel are not qualified.
Required Core Competencies:
Network Troubleshooting: Knowledge of basic Local Area Network / Wide Area Network (LAN/WAN) and system principles to install, configure, and troubleshoot components.
Customer Support: Knowledge of customer support methods to resolve issues, document solutions, and train customers.
Systems Planning: Knowledge of concepts and techniques used to plan, operate, maintain, and upgrade a LAN/WAN.
Data Analysis: Knowledge of procedures and techniques needed to gather data, synthesize information, and identify trends.
Problem Solving: Ability to analyze routine network problems and recommend effective solutions.
