Valuation Services Senior Associate / Manager
A well-established, PCAOB-registered public accounting firm is seeking a skilled and motivated valuation professional to join its Valuation Services practice. This individual will primarily perform reviews of third-party appraisals for audit support purposes, while also helping grow and deliver consulting valuation services across tax planning, financial reporting, and litigation. The successful candidate will work closely with internal accounting and audit teams to ensure clients receive the highest quality service. This role is partially remote and based in Houston, Texas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform reviews of third-party appraisals for audit support purposes
- Plan scope of work for valuation engagements and oversee day-to-day execution of multiple concurrent engagements
- Maintain responsibility for quality control and accuracy of client deliverables while effectively managing engagement risk
- Manage client relationships and consult with clients throughout all aspects of the valuation process
- Clearly explain and articulate valuation methodology issues and document accounting matters
- Prepare, draft, and finalize valuation reports in a clear and concise manner
- Service clients across multiple industries, delivering valuation engagements for financial reporting and audit reviews
- Manage and deliver business and intangible asset valuations for mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, tax and regulatory compliance, restructuring, and corporate planning purposes
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of valuation experience
- Valuation or relevant professional accreditation required
- Experience with valuations of intangible assets (customer relationships, trade names, technology), contingent consideration, share-based awards, warrants, convertible preferred stock, and convertible debt
- Strong understanding of financial reporting and tax-related valuations
- Analytical financial modeling skills
- Ability to manage client relationships and oversee multiple concurrent engagements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Self-motivated with strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Education & Certifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field required
- ASA, CFA, ABV, or CPA certification preferred
