Senior Accountant - Mooresville, Indiana (Hybrid Role)
Our team is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. This role is responsible for maintaining the general ledger and ensuring all accounting activities comply with GAAP. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, along with the ability to thrive in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment. Manufacturing experience is required.
Reporting directly to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will play a key role in the monthly close process, financial reporting, and audit support, while partnering closely with the Corporate Controller and management team.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts; ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP
- Coordinate and support the monthly close schedule, including journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Monitor, verify, and correct accounting data, identifying errors and discrepancies from internal and external sources
- Develop and maintain supporting schedules and documentation for financial reporting
- Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and variance analysis
- Provide schedules, reports, and commentary to support management reviews and decision-making
- Support annual, quarterly, financial, and tax audits by responding to information requests and preparing documentation
- Assist with inventory and cost accounting, as well as revenue recognition activities
- Maintain records for profit and loss, taxes, liabilities, and assets
- Prepare special financial reports and analyses as requested by management
- Review accounting policies and procedures, recommending improvements to strengthen reporting and controls
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations by staying current on applicable requirements
