Director of Nursing
Location: Maricopa County, AZ
Schedule: Full-Time

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Director of Nursing to join a respected nonprofit organization serving individuals experiencing behavioral health, substance-use, and crisis-related needs throughout Maricopa County.

What You’ll Do
- Provide leadership and direction for nursing services and clinical operations
- Support, mentor, and develop Nurse Managers, supervisors, and frontline nursing staff
- Promote a positive, collaborative, and patient-centered workplace culture
- Ensure nursing practices meet organizational, licensing, accreditation, and regulatory standards
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, training, performance, and nursing competencies
- Monitor clinical outcomes and identify opportunities to improve quality and patient safety
- Partner with medical providers, behavioral health professionals, and operational leaders
- Help develop and maintain nursing policies, procedures, and evidence-based practices
- Support incident reviews, corrective action plans, and continuous quality-improvement initiatives
- Participate in leadership planning and help advance the organization’s community-focused mission
What We’re Looking For
- Active and unrestricted Arizona Registered Nurse license
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; master’s degree preferred
- Progressive nursing leadership experience, ideally at the manager or director level
- Experience in behavioral health, psychiatric care, crisis services, detoxification, substance-use treatment, or a similar setting strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of clinical compliance, quality standards, and patient safety
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities, and communicate effectively
- A compassionate, hands-on leadership style and a genuine commitment to serving vulnerable populations
