We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join a collaborative, mission-driven therapy team supporting developmentally disabled and dual-diagnosed pediatric students in a school-based setting.
This role provides the opportunity to work closely with therapists, teachers, and multidisciplinary professionals while helping children and adolescents build the functional, emotional, and developmental skills needed for success both inside and outside the classroom.

Patient Population
This position serves pediatric clients ranging from 2–18 years old with developmental disabilities and dual diagnoses.
What You’ll Do
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Conduct therapy sessions independently with support from on-site or nearby supervisors and peers
- Deliver occupational therapy services primarily within ABA programming environments
- Provide OT services exclusively to pediatric clients ages 2–18
- Focus treatment on emotional regulation, visual-motor integration, sensory processing, and developmental goals
- Maintain an average caseload of approximately 30 clients weekly (typically 6 sessions per day)
- Complete timely and accurate documentation of sessions, progress, and outcomes
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to support student success
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in evaluating students upon entry into the program
- Provide individual and group occupational therapy services under Occupational Therapist supervision
- Support the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Prepare semester progress reports under supervision
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and therapy department initiatives
- Maintain therapy materials and equipment
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
Schedule
- Full-Time, 12-Month Position
- Monday–Friday Schedule
- Hours: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Qualifications
Required
- Associate degree from an accredited COTA program
- Eligible for NBCOT (AOTCB) certification
- Eligible for Arizona state licensure
- Ability to pass fingerprinting and background clearance requirements
Skills & Abilities
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating within a team environment
- Strong communication skills with students, parents, staff, and community partners
- Excellent organization, documentation, and time-management abilities
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the day
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs independently and assist with student mobility when needed
- Moderate to loud work environment
- Ability to work with students who may display challenging physical behaviors
