Location: AMS Little Rock
Compensation Range: $53,314 – $59,444 (based on verified full-time teaching experience)

Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Student Development
- Deliver engaging, standards-aligned physical education instruction aligned with AMS curriculum frameworks
- Teach foundational skills related to physical fitness, movement, coordination, teamwork, and healthy lifestyle habits
- Differentiate instruction to support students with varying physical abilities and skill levels
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to support skill development and growth
- Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and positive peer interactions
- Establish and maintain a structured, safe, and inclusive physical education environment
- Implement PBIS and proactive behavior management strategies
- Support students’ physical, social, and emotional development
- Reinforce positive behaviors and student accountability
- Participate in weekly professional development and professional learning communities (PLCs)
- Collaborate with teachers, instructional leaders, and administrators
- Contribute to school-wide initiatives, events, and wellness programs
- Engage in ongoing professional learning aligned with AMS priorities
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and participation
- Participate in conferences and school events
- Support family engagement opportunities related to student wellness
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Education, or related field OR
- Valid state teaching certification (or ability to obtain prior to start date)
- Demonstrate strong classroom management skills
- Show commitment to serving Title I and diverse student populations
- Demonstrate a data-driven instructional mindset
- Exhibit professionalism, collaboration, and initiative
- Prior experience teaching Physical Education in a K–8 setting
- Experience working in Title I or high-need school environments
- Experience supporting English Language Learners (ELLs)
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
- Arkansas State Background Check
- Child Maltreatment Central Registry Check
- Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) required background clearance and fingerprinting
