THAT 1 PAINTER — Shreveport/Bossier City, Louisiana
THAT 1 PAINTER is seeking an experienced Production / Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day execution of our residential and commercial painting projects in the Shreveport/Bossier City market.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who knows the painting industry and can take a sold project from scheduling through final completion. The right candidate will understand paint products, proper application, jobsite management, subcontractor relationships, quality control, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage painting projects from the point of sale through final completion and customer sign-off.
- Schedule projects, crews, and subcontractors to keep production moving efficiently.
- Order paint, coatings, sundries, and other materials required for each project.
- Maintain strong relationships with paint suppliers and ensure proper products are being used for each application.
- Recruit, interview, onboard, and maintain a reliable network of qualified painting subcontractors and crews.
- Conduct pre-production job reviews and communicate scope, expectations, colors, materials, and timelines to crews.
- Visit active jobsites to monitor quality, safety, cleanliness, productivity, and adherence to scope.
- Address production issues, change orders, customer concerns, and crew-related challenges quickly and professionally.
- Monitor material and labor usage to help maintain project profitability.
- Coordinate project completion, punch-list items, final walkthroughs, and post-production follow-through.
- Maintain strong communication with customers throughout the production process.
- Help create a culture of accountability, professionalism, quality workmanship, and exceptional customer service.
Required Experience
Extensive painting industry experience is required for this position.
Ideal candidates will have a strong professional background with companies or products such as Sherwin-Williams, PPG, or Benjamin Moore, including individuals who have worked in paint sales, store management, contractor support, or similar roles.
Candidates without supplier experience should have a minimum of three years of proven experience in the residential and/or commercial painting industry, preferably involving production management, project management, estimating, crew supervision, or painting operations.
Applicants should have a working knowledge of:

- Surface preparation and proper application procedures

The successful candidate should be able to walk onto a painting project, understand what needs to happen, identify potential problems before they become expensive problems, and confidently communicate with painters, suppliers, customers, and company leadership.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of residential or commercial painting experience or significant professional experience with a major paint supplier
- Strong knowledge of paint products, coatings, preparation, and application
- Experience managing painters, subcontractors, crews, or projects
- Excellent organizational and scheduling skills
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to manage multiple active projects simultaneously
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Comfortable working in the field and visiting jobsites regularly
