Full-Time, Temporary, Grant-Funded Evening Position
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. (Academic Year), Online Work on Friday evenings
Location: Lebanon County Career and Technology Center (LCCTC), Lebanon, PA
Reports To: Vice President for Academic Affairs or Designee
Position Summary
The Electromechanical Technology (ELME) Dual Credit Instructor is responsible for delivering college-level Electromechanical Technology coursework and laboratory instruction to high school seniors participating in Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology's grant-funded dual credit program at the Lebanon County Career and Technology Center. If seats are available, adult students will also be enrolled.
The instructor will provide practical, hands-on instruction aligned with advanced manufacturing and industrial maintenance industry standards. Students will complete coursework that supports completion of the first year of the Associate of Applied Science degree while gaining foundational skills in mechanical systems, automation, industrial controls, robotics, PLCs, and troubleshooting.
Examples of Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Deliver assigned Electromechanical Technology courses and laboratory instruction in accordance with approved TSCT curriculum.
· Develop and implement lesson plans, laboratory exercises, and assessments that support student learning outcomes.
· Provide instruction in mechanical systems, industrial maintenance, automation, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), robotics, instrumentation, motor controls, and related technologies.
· Facilitate hands-on learning experiences that replicate industry practices and workplace expectations.
· Maintain laboratory safety and ensure compliance with all College and industry safety standards.
· Evaluate student performance and maintain accurate attendance, grading, and academic records.
· Submit required reports, grades, and documentation in accordance with College procedures.
· Support student engagement, persistence, and academic success.
· Collaborate with TSCT faculty, LCTC personnel, and participating school districts.
· Assist with maintaining equipment, instructional materials, and laboratory resources.
· Participate in curriculum review and continuous improvement initiatives.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
· Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and training activities as assigned.
· Support outreach and recruitment efforts related to the dual credit program.
· Assist with grant assessment, reporting, and program evaluation activities.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
· No direct supervisory responsibilities.
· Provides instructional oversight of students during classroom and laboratory activities.
Typical Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Knowledge of industrial maintenance, automation, PLCs, robotics, mechatronics, mechanical systems, and troubleshooting techniques.
· Ability to provide effective classroom and laboratory instruction.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work effectively with high school and college-age students.
· Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

· Proficiency with instructional technology and industry-standard equipment.
Education and/or Experience Requirements
Required:
· Associate degree in Electromechanical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Advanced Manufacturing, Automation Technology, or a closely related field; or an approved equivalent combination of education and industry certifications.
· Minimum five (5) years of industry experience in electromechanical systems, industrial maintenance, automation, advanced manufacturing, or a related field.
Preferred:
· Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
· Ten (10) or more years of relevant industry experience.
· Prior teaching, apprenticeship instruction, workforce development, or technical training experience.
· Experience working with dual enrollment or secondary education programs.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
· Work is performed in classroom, laboratory, and industrial training environments.
· Frequent standing, walking, equipment demonstrations, and laboratory supervision.
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
· Exposure to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation training equipment.
· Requires adherence to all safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment when appropriate.
Grant Program Context
This position supports a Pennsylvania Department of Education-funded initiative designed to expand access to workforce-aligned technical education for Lebanon County high school seniors. The instructor will deliver evening dual credit coursework that enables students to complete the first year of their TSCT Associate of Applied Science degree while still enrolled in high school, reducing barriers to college access and supporting regional workforce development needs. If seats are remaining, adult students from will also be enrolled.
