Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Buyer. The Buyer plays a key role in the purchasing department by completing order processing, conducting cost analysis, participating in simple negotiations and managing vendor communications. The role ensures accurate and timely processing of purchase orders while maintaining organized records.

This is an in office position located at 5897 State Highway 59 in Goodman, MO. The work schedule is Monday-Thursday, 10 hour shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

· Assists with order processing, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

· Assists in cost analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and trends.

· Initiates and participates in simple negotiations with vendors for pricing and delivery schedules under the guidance of the Purchasing Manager.

· Communicate with vendors to confirm orders and delivery schedules as well as following up on delayed orders and assisting in resolving discrepancies.

· Coordinates with departments on ordering needs

· Assists in resolving vendor and order issues

· Assists in monitoring reorder points, safety stock and lead times.

· Conducts material research under guidance of purchasing manager

· Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to purchasing activities.

· Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience:

· High school diploma or equivalent required

· 2 years in a purchasing related field

· Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

· Advanced Excel skills are strongly preferred, including proficiency in advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis

· Tank industry-related experience is a plus, experience with steel purchasing and other specialized categories is preferred

· Previous ERP or purchasing software experience with NetSuite experience preferred
