Linen Aide - (BAMC)

Job Summary:

Provides staff to operate the government owned linen department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Ø    Receive clean linen from the laundry contractor.

Ø    Collect soiled linen from designated pickup points at scheduled times.

Ø    Distribute clean linen to designated rooms/areas at scheduled times.

Ø    Fill orders and deliver clean linen to user sections throughout the facilities.

Ø    Mark new linen with government furnished labels.

Ø    Keep the linen room clean and well organized.

Ø    Participate in linen inventories.

Ø    Perform other duties as assigned.

General Requirements:

Ø    Must wear uniform and comply with all departmental work rules.

Ø    Must have knowledge of all department policies and procedures.

Ø    Must be willing to assist in the event of an emergency at the facility.

Ø    Will receive training in disaster preparedness and must be prepared to respond.

Ø    Adequate written and oral English language skills are required. 

Ø    Must be able to take directions and carry out all assignments.

Ø    Must demonstrate ability to perform assigned duties without constant supervision.  

Ø    Must be available all shifts, 24 hours / 7 day per week operations.

Must perform duties in a manner that assures confidentiality, privacy, dignity and safety of patients, visitors, and staff at all times.

Ø    Able to bend, stoop, carry, kneel, push, pull, and lift.       

Ø    Able to lift heavy packages of linen onto shelves.                             

Ø    Push loaded carts of up to 80 pounds.                           

Ø    May be required to drive a company vehicle.
