The Emergency Management Coordinator (Risk Management Specialist IV) performs highly complex (senior-level) risk management work. Work involves coordinating, developing, and evaluating agency risk management programs and coordinating risk management reviews. May supervise the work of others. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

You Will Be Trusted To
- Coordinate program activities in areas of emergency management, preparedness, training, response, and mitigation.
- Coordinate, test, and maintain the agency’s emergency mass notification system.
- Assist in continuity of operations planning and exercises.
- Collaborate in the planning, developing, and implementing department statewide initiatives.
- Develop, implement, and review risk management program policies and procedures.
- Prepare technical and comprehensive reports, plans, and procedures for risk management program development, reviews, and inspections.
- Conduct on-site inspections of agency facilities to identify hazards and risk exposures.
- Assist with department incident reports for assessment and risk mitigation.
- Review risk programs for compliance with applicable state laws and agency policies.
- Participate in interagency emergency management meetings, which may be required outside of normal business hours.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Four years of full-time experience in planning or operation of risk management, information security, loss control, and/or the workers' compensation and safety programs.
- Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
- Working knowledge of statutes, rules/regulations, standards, guidelines, and best practices
- Ability to gather, correlate, and analyze facts, to devise solutions to problems.
- Excellent interpersonal communication
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Emergency Management, Continuity of Operations, or Risk Management Certification
- A Family Friendly Certified Workplace.
