The Opportunity
The Vice President of University Advancement Brooks Hull, seeks a senior development leader to serve as the VPUA's primary strategic partner and to lead the development function as UA 3.0 launches in July 2026. Annual philanthropic production has reached $30M; the goal is $50M and beyond. The framework is built and TXST is seeking a leader who will help lead it.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development business units: Principal and Planned Giving, Major Gifts and Campaigns, and Corporate and Foundation Engagement
- Carry a personal portfolio of transformational gift prospects at the six-figure level and above
- Partner with the VPUA to advance the President's most significant donor relationships
- Drive team accountability through portfolio reviews, pipeline management, and performance metrics under the UA 3.0 framework
- Mentor and develop a high-performing gift officer team
- Serve as a co-equal partner to the AVP of Advancement in a dual-AVP leadership model
Qualifications
- 10 years of frontline fundraising experience with a track record of closing principal and major gifts
- Meaningful experience in higher education advancement
- Prior leadership of a development team with accountability for others' performance
- Experience in campaign frameworks and data-driven portfolio management
- Comfort with CRM systems and moves management discipline
- Ability to match the pace of a division in motion and thrive in a culture of accountability
