Certified Surgical Technologist – CVOR – Full-Time – Days (Rotating Weekends)

Location: Salem, VA
Salary:

• CVOR Tech: $27.36 – $38.30/hr

• OR Tech: $24.87 – $34.82/hr
  Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM or 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Overview

A 500 bed acute care hospital in Salem, VA is hiring a Certified Surgical Technologist (CVOR) to join its Heart Center surgical team. This role is ideal for experienced surgical techs looking to work in a collaborative cardiovascular operating room environment with access to advanced surgical technology and a wide range of procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the CVOR surgical environment, instruments, and equipment

• Assist the surgical team by scrubbing in for C-sections and cardiovascular cases

• Perform infant testing and directed patient care tasks under RN supervision

• Register and pre-register obstetric patients

• Ensure proper documentation and equipment maintenance

• Demonstrate proficiency in medical terminology and clinical communication

• Maintain a clean and safe surgical environment

Requirements

• Completion of a Surgical Technology program required (or grandfathered by the State of VA)

• Surgical Technician license in the State of Virginia required

• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire

• 1–2 years of hospital or scrub tech experience preferred

• Computer literacy and familiarity with surgical instrumentation required

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform frequent physical activity
