Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated PACU Nurse Manager to lead the Post Anesthesia Care Unit in Austin, TX. This leadership role oversees 18.5 FTEs and plays a vital part in supporting perioperative services across a thriving surgical program. Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of the PACU, ensuring safe and effective patient recovery.
Lead staffing, scheduling, and productivity management to meet departmental goals.
Conduct performance evaluations, establish employee goals, and mentor team members.
Review, revise, and implement departmental policies, standing orders, and protocols.
Monitor and address facility conditions, taking action to prevent and resolve issues.
Support hospital-wide Process Improvement initiatives.
Serve as a change agent by modeling leadership and supporting organizational goals.
Manage departmental budgets, inventory, and resource allocation.
Maintain professional growth through ongoing education and development.
Qualifications
Required:
Current RN license (Texas or Compact).
BSN degree.
Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
Minimum 2 years of experience in OR or Day Surgery.
Previous management experience.
Preferred:
MSN or advanced degree in Nursing or Healthcare Leadership.
Strong background in PACU leadership.
