GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Our mission at the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) is to serve, protect and advance the citizens and industries in the state with quality motor vehicle related services. We are a dynamic state agency dedicated to customer service, consumer protection and the success of motor vehicle-related industries.
Provides complex licensing work for motor vehicle industries licensed by Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV), Motor Vehicle Division. Work involves receiving, reviewing, and approving license applications submitted by persons wanting to engage in businesses under the jurisdiction of the TxDMV; ensuring compliance with applicable policies, laws, rules, and regulations; and communicating in writing, over the phone, and in person with external and internal customers. Participates in and contributes to special projects. Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Processes all license categories of applications in accordance with established laws, rules, regulations, and policies and procedures in a high-volume environment.
Receives applications and supporting documentation, reviews for completeness, and verifies all related documents received.
Performs timely and accurate data entry of license applications, fees, and all required documents. Ensures data integrity by accurately entering related information into the licensing management system.
Generates deficiency notices detailing missing documents for incomplete applications. Sends deficiency notices to applicants, completes the application process when all requirements are met, and issues licenses.
Works with team members to appropriately problem-solve licensing related questions and issues. Updates and informs management of potential problems.
Participates in and provides input for special projects.
Provides timely licensing information to external and internal customers by phone, in writing, and in person to answer questions and educate customers relating to licensing processes and requirements.
May travel up to 10% of the time. Travels by car (may include flying). May include overnight travel. May require working extended hours and some evenings and weekends, as needed.
Required to attend work regularly and adheres to approved work hours in accordance with department policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Regulatory Knowledge – Working knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly assimilate information related to TxDMV, State and Federal regulations, legislation, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Training and Development Knowledge – Working knowledge of training and development procedures and techniques; learning management and learning content management systems; group processes, group dynamics, and interpersonal relations; and instructional design and curriculum development.
Oral and Written Communication - Skill in oral and written communication: instructing others: facilitating workshops; and using a computer and applicable software.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
Education – Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Experience - Minimum five (5) years’ experience in general office administration, licensing related activities, or customer service-related experiences. Substitution Note: Work experience may be substituted by related college education on a year-for-year basis.
Licensure and/or Certification – If driving is required, must possess a valid driver license from state of residence.

REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION AND/OR LICENSURE
A valid Class "C" driver's license is required. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within ninety (90) days after entering Texas as a new resident. A satisfactory driving record is required for operating state or personal vehicles to conduct department business.
