See details about what we do.This position is a member of our Municipal Solid Waste Section of the Waste Permits Division.HEREand#8217;S WHAT YOUand#8217;LL BE DOINGAssign work and oversee highly advanced staff and activities of a work group, consistent with division and section goals and objectives.

Conduct and/ or assist with highly advanced technical reviews and evaluations of applications, reports, and plans of various levels of complexity pertaining to waste management; determines compliance with applicable laws, rules, technical principles, policies, and procedures; and processes to completion.

Oversee and assure the quality and timeliness of customer service by work group staff for both internal and external customers; contributes to the divisionand#8217;s commitment toward continuous improvement.

Assist with the hiring process and staff development activities and provide input into performance management decisions.KEY QUALIFICATIONSExperience working with federal or Texas environmental regulations pertaining to municipal solid waste, industrial and hazardous waste, remediation, or water quality programs.

Experience managing projects, i.e., tracking project progress; maintaining scheduled deadlines; interacting with other professional staff to obtain necessary information; and/or developing or supervising the development of the final work product.

Experience communicating technical information to audiences; participation in project coordination meetings; conferences; public meetings; or public hearings to provide technical and/or regulatory information.

Experience mentoring junior level staff regarding technical standards, agency requirements, and/or program requirements.

Qualifications: REQUIRED EDUCATION EXPERIENCEExperience in the administration of a program relevant to assignmentOrGraduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to assignmentEmployees in this classification series may research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure, including but not limited to a communication infrastructure system, cybersecurity system, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment system, or water treatment facility.
