Title: Medical Assistant/Receptionist
Location: Houston, TX 77087 - 7428 Park Place Blvd.
Reports To: Program Director/Clinic Manager
Time/Status: Regular/Full Time Early Morning
Schedule: Monday – Friday (5:30am – 2pm)
Note: This is a dual role as a receptionist and MA. You will be taking on receptionist responsibilities as well as MA duties interchangeably. You must have an MA certification to be eligible for this role.
Essential Job Functions
- Answer telephones, and direct calls to appropriate staff.
- Greet visitors, ascertain purpose of visit, and direct them to appropriate staff.
- Operate office equipment such as voice mail messaging systems, use spreadsheets for patient balances, collect and document payments from patients as per clinic protocol.
- Interview patients to complete documents, case histories, and forms such as intake and insurance forms.
- Receive and route messages and documents to appropriate staff.
- Compile and record medical charts, reports, and correspondence.
- Transmit correspondence and medical records by mail, e-mail, or fax.
- Maintain medical records, technical library, and correspondence files.
- Create Monthly Patient Cards in a timely manner and put patient information in the computer.
- Check messages every morning and submit them to the manager
- Prepare all mandated reports, documentation, and other requirements in a timely fashion.
Requirements:
- Medical Assistant Certification
Qualifications:
- Front/back-office experience
- MAT/OTP/NTP experience is a plus.
- Knows and follow protocol for U/A’s (including entering in the computer)
