The Department of Primary Care & Rural Medicine, Texas A&M College of Medicine invites applications for one (1) full-time Academic Professional Track (Non-Tenure) position with an 11-month academic appointment beginning in the summer of 2025. Applicants will be considered for the faculty titles of Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor depending on qualifications. The Texas A&M University College of Medicine educates medical students and trains residents for a broad scope of practices that prepare them to practice in urban, suburban, and rural settings, or to consider a career in Academic Family Medicine. The responsibilities for the successful candidate include but are not limited to: obstetric care; inpatient hospital medicine; inpatient/outpatient pediatrics; direct patient care; teaching clinical practice of family medicine to medical students, residents, and fellows; night and weekend call; and rotation with other faculty in the coverage of inpatient hospital services.
The area is a small city with extensive surrounding rural areas yet only 90 minutes from Austin or Houston. The university assures both cultural and sports entertainment and excellent schools and neighborhoods. Local healthcare infrastructure includes the College of Medicine, 3 general hospitals and over 400 clinicians of various medical specialties.
