What we want

The College of Pharmacy is looking for a Graduate Academic Advisor to serve as a member for the Office of the Dean team. We desire an individual who subscribes to and supports our commitment as stated above. The successful applicant will bring an expert level of experience to the position and understand the demands of supporting executives in a fast-paced environment. This person must be professional, enjoy working in a high-volume environment and be able to apply strong organizational skills while being flexible in their daily routine. Salary: W ill be commensurate based on the selected hire’s education and experience .

Location/Schedule: College Station, TX/Full-Time

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some experience or familiarity providing support for a graduate program.

Responsibilities

Graduate Advising and Student Support

  • Advise graduate students on programmatic requirements and academic processes.

  • Maintain accurate documentation on graduate students and their academic progress.

  • Be knowledgeable in the different platforms used by the University for tracking students’ progress and be able to guide the students in use of these platforms.

  • Assist in providing information about admission requirements to potential applicants.

  • Circulate information to students pertaining to scholarship opportunities, university announcements, etc.


Faculty Support

  • Ensure academic affairs has the correct course offering each semester.

  • Create a master exam proctoring schedule each semester.

  • Assist in scheduling of qualifying exams and assist in administering the exam on the CS campus.

  • Ensure availability of proctors for graduate program exams in CS, if requested by faculty.


Other administrative program duties and departmental tasks

  • Ensure WebAdmit is up to date annually.

  • Ensure our website is up to date for prospective students.

  • Ensure our college information is updated annually on the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy

  • Ensure our program enrollment statistics are kept up to date.
