Director of Development – Mays Business School
The Director of Development for Mays Business School serves as a strategic fundraising leader advancing the Texas A&M Foundation’s philanthropic priorities in support of Mays Business School. This role works closely with Mays leadership, faculty, alumni, and Foundation colleagues to design and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with the school’s mission and long-term strategic initiatives.
This position is based on site in College Station, fostering strong collaboration with campus partners while supporting external donor engagement across the state and beyond. The Director of Development is responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding relationships with donors and prospects to secure major and principal gifts that support Mays Business School’s academic programs, faculty excellence, student success initiatives, and strategic priorities.

What you’ll do…
Role
As the Director of Development – Mays Business School, you will serve as an ambassador of the Texas A&M Foundation and Mays Business School by aligning donor interests with institutional priorities. In this role, you will:
- Develop and execute strategic fundraising plans aligned with Mays Business School’s priorities and the Foundation’s advancement goals.
- Cultivate, solicit, and close major and principal gifts in support of academic programs, faculty initiatives, student success, and strategic projects.
- Partner closely with Mays Business School leadership and faculty to identify philanthropic opportunities and translate institutional needs into compelling cases for support.
- Lead stewardship efforts to ensure donors feel valued, informed, and connected to the impact of their philanthropy.
- Build and manage a portfolio of donors and prospects through ongoing engagement and personalized outreach.
- Collaborate with Foundation colleagues to ensure coordinated donor strategies, data integrity, and alignment across fundraising efforts.
- Represent the Texas A&M Foundation and Mays Business School at donor meetings, events, and on-campus initiatives.

- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of fundraising experience, including major gift solicitation.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic fundraising plans.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship building skills.
- Commitment to the mission, values, and goals of the Texas A&M Foundation and Mays Business School.
- Proven experience cultivating effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to advance fundraising and engagement efforts.
- Master’s degree.
- 5 years of progressive development or advancement experience.
- Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) or similar professional credential.
- Experience in higher education or nonprofit advancement.
- Demonstrated success securing major or principal gifts and managing high-level donor relationships.
- Demonstrate the attributes of a Passionate Professional Dedicated to Purposeful Philanthropy.

- Contribute to team effectiveness through collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and continuous improvement.
